This lecture focuses on the day to day lives of
Ottoman subjects living in the County of Antioch (mod. Antakya) and their
integration into a system of networks spanning throughout the rest of the
empire and into the larger world.
David Meza received his BA from University of Michigan in
2014 after double majoring in History and Arab, Armenian, Turkish, Persian, and
Islamic Studies. He received his MA from University of Chicago's Center for
Middle Eastern Studies. He is currently a PhD candidate at University of
California Riverside working with Prof. Fariba Zarinebaf as his advisor.
